Alligator - Sample Set View
In sample set view the samples in the sample set are shown. The first page is the sample information:
On the left are different views on the sample set for:
- sample information (see above)
- lab data (constituent values)
- spectra
- t-SNE view on the spectra
- table view of constituent and spectral data in nummeric form
When the sample information is visible, these can be modified, especially sample selection modifies the following actions. In lab view the constituent values can be added, modified, re-calculated or removed, in spectra view the spectra may be viewed and modified by several math pre-treatments.
When plotting large datasets only the selected samples are plotted. (If none is selected, all are plotted.) If many samples are in the sample set and many are selected (> 500) the mean and the hull of spectra (maximum and minimum absorption values at each wavelength) are plotted to assure the program does not freeze. When there are too many samples additional or all spectra can be plotted manually.
For t-SNE please check van der Maaten, L.J.P.; Hinton, G.E. (Nov 2008) or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-distributed_stochastic_neighbor_embedding
