Alligator - Project View
In project view all sample sets and all models in this project are displayed. The following kind of models can be seen in the project if models of this kind exist in the project:
- sample sets
- model sets
- PLS models
- MLR models
- LOCAL models
- SVM models
- ANN models
- PCA models
- Transfer models
- Filters
For each of this items a block is visible on screen, if models exist in the project. Inside the block the models can be selected for viewing, for removal or for export.
A sample set is a collection of samples consisting typically of spectra, constituent values and sample information. Non-spectral - arbitrary - sample sets may exists.
A models set is a collection of different models to be handled together (viewing, export, prediction, validaiton). In a model set any number of PLS models, MLR models, LOCAL models, SVM models, ANN models and PCA models may be collected.
A transfer model is used to standardize spectra from a client to a target (standardization of spectra). It uses the concept of serial numbers for source / slave and target / master.
A filter is used mainly for prediction of spectra gathered from online measurement conditions, where empty sample cells may occour. A filter can be appplied to select good spectra from a series of spectra. Filters are usually defined in the spectra space.
Inside each block the entries may be grouped together for a better overview if there are many entries in a block. This grouping is activated by default but may be disabled for a project. to disable grouping of entries throughout the program open the project settings ("Load Project", menu item "Project settings") and unmark "Grouping".
On the left buttons to initiate a prediction of spectrra or valdiation of a model are present. The button may be invisbile when there are either no models to predict with or no samples sets in the project to predict or only sample sets without constituent values for validation.
A network button will allow the user conduct typical tasks when working with multiple insturments:
- to create a transfer model
- to transfer sample sets (spectral standardization)
- to trim spectra to a common wavelength range
- to plot several sample set simultaneously
- to predict several sample set simultaneously
The network button is only visible in the "NET" and "NET+" version of Alligator.
To continue working with the sample sets or models please chooce one of the following tasks:
- view a sample set and it's spectra => open the sample set by selecting a sample set, "Sample set", menu item "Open selected sample set"
- create a new model from a sample set => open the sample set and select "Create Model"
- predict a sample set with a given model => "Predict"
- validate a model with a sampel set => "Validate"
- modify the spectra from a sample set => either open the sample and select "Spectra" or "Network" for trimming spectra
